Apple Cider Vinegar Diet

 

The Apple Cider Vinegar diet fails to provide any strict diet plan.

About one to three teaspoons of cider vinegar is consumed in the apple cider vinegar diets.

Apple cider vinegar or ACV is a kind of vinegar obtained by the fermentation of apple cider. The sugar in the cider is converted to alcohol and vinegar. This action takes place in the presence of bacteria and yeast. It is yellowish brown in colour.



Early history reveals the use of cider vinegar for pneumonia, scurvy and indigestion. Consumption of three teaspoons is quite difficult in the primary stages.

The apple vinegar diet is beneficial in curbing blood glucose increase. The postprandial glucose levels are lesser with the intake of vinegar. It is a fat burner and helps in weight reduction. The cider vinegar diet is used as a natural suppressant. Cider vinegar or cider vinegar tablets are consumed prior to the meal for weight loss effects. It also helps in the restoration and maintenance of acid base balance in the body.

Apple cider vinegar and diet are helpful in the prevention of regurgitation of acid or acid reflux. Certain studies reveal the damage of acid vinegar on the intestinal lining. Quarter cup each of cider vinegar and water helps in restoration of the scalp balance. Research also reveals the effect of apple vinegar diet on the cholesterol levels.

Apple cider vinegar is helpful as an acne remedy. A solution of one part of cider vinegar with three parts of water is topically dabbed on the affected area. Care is required while application on skin, as it results in scars and burns.



Cider vinegar diet proves beneficial against hypertension or high blood pressure. This is attributed to the inhibition of ACE or angiotensin converting enzyme, to form angiotensin II.

Drinks containing apple cider vinegar affects the enamel of the tooth. Individuals, who are hypersensitive or allergic, should use cider vinegar in a careful manner. It is better avoided. Individuals on potassium lowering medications and those suffering from osteoporosis should be cautious. An increased level of intake harms the duodenum, stomach and liver.
