Double Chin Advice

A double chin is the extra fat around some people’s neck that sags down and gives the impression that they have an additional chin. It is commonly seen in people who are obese or elderly. In most people, a double chin starts appearing due to fluid or fat accumulation in the fatty cells or due to genetic reasons. In some, a lack of good posture and exercise could be the reason for a double chin. Many people want to know “how to get rid of a double chin” as it can make them look older and does not do much for their confidence and self-image.

Here are a few tips on how to get rid of a double chin:

• One effective method of getting rid of a double chin is by following a healthy diet.

It is important that you monitor and regulate your caloric intake as a high calorie diet takes time to process and this causes your body to age faster. The fewer calories you take in, the lesser fat is found on your face.
• For those who have a double chin, neck exercises can be beneficial to help you get rid of it. Slowly rotate your neck first in the anti-clockwise direction and then in the clockwise direction. You could also try contracting and relaxing your neck muscles. This is a simple exercise and can be done at any time. This exercise can help firm the neck muscles.
• If you are wondering how to reduce your double chin, here’s another tip that is quite simple. Make sure you have a good posture. Sit up straight and make sure your jaw is jutting slightly during the day, as this will help keep away that double chin.
• Another great way to get rid of your double chin is by chewing sugar-free gum. This will help exercise your facial and jaw muscles and prevent the build-up of extra fat and lose skin.
• Take some ice cold water and slap it on your neck area. Repeat this for about 15 times.
• Massage your neck with some cold cream. Use your fingers to firmly stroke your neck. The movement should be in the upward direction from the throat towards your chin.
If none of these double chin removal tips work for you here are a few tricks that might help.
• Maintain a short hair-cut that ends just above or at your jaw line. Short hair makes your neck appear to be longer.
• Dresses that have low necklines work great for those women who have a double chin. Stay away from turtlenecks and go in for broad and open necklines.
• Long necklaces and those that sit at the throat’s base and have drops are more flattering than chokers.
Take the opinion of a plastic surgeon who can guide you on how to get rid of your double chin. If you are wondering as to how to get rid of the double chin fast, there are a number of procedures such as liposuction which are quite effective.
