Information on National Eating Disorder

National eating disorder information center (NEDIC) is a non-profit Canadian organization which was established in 1985 to provide resources and information on different types of eating disorders. The goal of this organization is to promote healthy lifestyle and inculcate healthy eating habits in individuals who suffer from different types of eating disorders. There are many such organizations which promote national eating disorder information and help in different countries around the world. These organizations have awareness programs, health and nutrition education programs, self esteem and self confidence development sessions, personalized sessions to provide personalized guidance, and many more activities to promote healthy living among the people suffering from these disorders. Different types of eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, compulsive eating disorders and binge eating.

One common thing in all these disorders is that a person is too obsessed about his weight, what he eats and exercise. The actual problem in eating disorders is not food but it is a more serious psychological condition which affects the self-esteem and confidence of a person to a larger extent. These disorders can be completely eliminated by effective and timely treatment. It is important to consult a health care specialist if you suspect a friend or relative with any eating disorders to provide correct guidance and treatment.
