What are the best natural Skincare methods? How can I protect my skin from pollution & keep it fresh? Thank you for the advice!

Our skin is the most important part of the body that is visible. It needs to be taken care of regularly so that the skin remains healthy and beautiful. Our skin is the one that is affected easily by many factors like sun, age, pollution, chemicals and dirt. With age the oil producing glands grows weak and thus the skin become dry. The skin becomes thin and wrinkles are being formed.


It is thus essential to retain the tone of the skin so that the individual looks attractive and young.

Some of the habits that need to be considered to improve the health of the skin are:

  • Protect from sun: Sun is the most harmful element for skin. The ultra violet rays of the sun tend to harm the skin and make it dry, rough and deep wrinkles are formed. Avoid outdoor during the high intensity hours where the intensity of the sun is high. Hence avoid going out between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Wear protective clothes that can prevent the rays of sun from touching the skin. Wear long sleeved shirts or tops rather than short sleeved or sleeveless dresses. Wear cotton clothes and denims that are tightly woven rather than knits that are loosely woven. Even cover the face with a cloth or a cap.
  • Avoid smoking: Smoking can affect the skin. It tends to narrow down the blood vessels present on the outermost layer of the skin and thus reduce the entry of oxygen and nutrients like Vitamin A that is essential for the health of the skin. It can also damage the collagen and elastin fibers that are needed for maintaining the health and elasticity of the skin.
  • Care your skin regularly: Avoid strong soaps as it leaves the skin dry. Avoid hot showers and bathing for long duration of time as it can remove the oil from the skin. Use mild soaps and warm water for bathing. Remove the make up before going to bed. Pat dry the face after bathing and do not rub the face harshly. Allow some moisture to remain on the face to prevent dryness.
  • Use moisturizers regularly: Moisturizers  are available that will hydrate the skin And prevent dryness of the skin. It will help in sealing the skin and will prevent the water from escaping and will allow water to be released slowly into the skin.
  • Improve your dietary habits: Increase the intake of water as it is essential in Flushing out the toxins from the body and can help in improving digestion.Fibre Rich can prevent constipation and can improve the digestive system of the Body. Have whole grain products, fruits and vegetables. Increase the intake of Essential fatty acids as it can improve the health of the skin. They make cell Membranes and hormones. Prefer walnut oil, soybean oil and flaxseed oil. Fish oil Supplements  are also beneficial.
