Body Detoxifying Liquid Diet

The Master cleanse diet involves the consumption of liquid food and is devoid of solid foods. It helps in detoxification and cleansing of the intestine. A mixture of cayenne pepper, lemon juice, maple syrup and water is used in this diet. It is also referred to as the Lemon cleanse diet. It is not recommended for more than ten days.


Defecation or passing stools is seen to happen within an hour, as digestion of the master cleanse diet is easy and rapid. Lack of solid foods calls the use of a laxative tea. This is included, in order to avoid constipation. About thirty ounces of warm sea water is taken in the morning to make the bowel movement easier.

The diet is broken with light soups and other strong juices, which are provided in a gradual manner. It is considered to be life threatening, when followed for long periods of time. All kinds of congestion and other toxins are eliminated by the master cleanse diet. Certain controversies exist regarding this diet. The use of salt water might contribute to the removal of the beneficial bacteria also. Individuals suffering from irritable bowel syndrome experience problems when on master cleanse diet. Headache and nausea are some of the side effects of this diet.
