GM Diet and Exercise

The General Motors developed a healthy diet program for its employees and their dependents in 1995. This program became popular and is today referred to as the General Motors diet or GM diet, in short. The intention of the management for implementing this program was to facilitate the general fitness of the employees and their families. The program includes a day-wise dietary plan and certain exercises. The GM diet and exercise program focus on some key factors with specific objectives:

  • Weekly weight loss of about five to six kilos.
  • Systematic and planned cleansing of the body by flushing out impurities and harmful toxins.
  • Aims at improving your emotions and attitude.

The GM diet exercise includes drinking of at least 10 glasses of water every day. The GM diet plan is a seven-day exercise that is to be strictly followed by you if you really want to achieve the desired results.

The day-wise GM diet plan is mentioned hereunder; keep in mind that this is a standard plan and there are variations available for vegetarians:

  • On day one, the GM diet plan allows you to only eat fruits, except bananas. This is because bananas are rich in calories. Consuming lots of watermelon is highly recommended for better results.
  • On the second day, you may eat only vegetables, any veggies of your choice.
  • On the third day, you need to eat vegetables and fruits, but exclude the calorie-rich potatoes and bananas.
  • On the fourth day, you are allowed to have as many as eight to ten bananas and three glasses of milk.
  • On the fifth day, you may eat beef and tomatoes. A maximum of 20 ounces of beef is allowed during the whole day.
  • On the sixth day, you may eat beef and veggies without any restriction, but you must increase your intake of water. This will help in flushing out more toxins from your body through urination.
  • On the last day of the GM diet exercise, you can eat tomatoes and brown rice and drink fruit juices.
This is the standard General Motor diet plan. The cabbage soup diet exercise is another wonderful dietary plan that is also sometimes combined with the GM diet and exercise plan. This exercise involves the intake of cabbage soup as a food supplement. The GM diet exercise should be avoided if you suffer from ailments like diabetes or hypertension. Moreover, before commencing the GM diet plan, you must consult your physician.
