However the question that arises is what vitamins are good for hair? Vitamins A, B, C and E are necessary for healthy skin and scalp, for improving hair growth and maintaining your hair color. Vitamins help in the long run to make your hair strong, lithe and avoid split ends. Another frequently asked question is what vitamins are good for hair growth? Vitamins good for hair growth are mainly Vitamin A. This vitamin acts as an antioxidant that strengthens the scalp of your head and nourishing the roots of your hair through the scalp. Food rich in vitamin A are cod liver oil, milk and cheese and the green leafy vegetables like broccoli, spinach, cabbage and lettuce. A lot of fruits like apricots and peaches also contain vitamin A which is good for hair. Vitamin C is also a necessary for maintaining the hair growth and make sure that the hair remains strong. The most easily available sources of Vitamin C are citrus fruits, strawberries, tomatoes and pineapple.

Vitamin E is another very necessary vitamin for the proper growth and maintenance of your hair. This vitamin is instrumental in improving the circulation of blood in the scalp and thereby encouraging the growth of hair. Some of the foods rich in vitamin E are vegetable oils, soybeans, nuts and dry fruits, beans and most green vegetables. Vitamin B 3 or niacin as it is known also help in the circulation in the scalp, it can be found in chicken, fish and meat. Vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid is present in whole grain and multi grain cereals and egg yolks. This vitamin helps to reduce the hair loss and delay the graying of hair. Vitamin B 6 is another vitamin which prevents hair loss and it is also said to create melanin which is the component that gives color to your hair. Vitamin B 6 can be found in foods such as organ meat and meat liver, whole grains and eggs.

Vitamin B12 is also one of the vitamins that are good for hair growth. B12 is easily available in most meat and fish foods. Other vitamins good for hair include biotin. This vitamin is an anti ageing ingredient for hair. It ceases any kind of premature graying and hair loss. Foods that are rich in biotin are eggs, meat liver, rice and milk products. Another such vitamin is Inositol, this is said to strengthen the hair follicles in your scalp and facilitate a healthy growth of hair. It can be found in citrus fruits and whole grains.
