Diet Coke Advice

Diet coke really helps you if you are on a diet because it provides practically negligible calories and no other nutrients. Some people believe that they are simply having chilled colored water which is very pleasing to the taste buds. As it claims and which is true that it has barely any calories its consumption is very high among many individuals who are diet freak. But the importance to weigh its effects on the body becomes important when a person is health conscious and is really seeking for a healthy term ‘diet'.  The main ingredient in any diet coke is aspartame which is an artificial sweetener and the three by products of aspartame when metabolized in the body are formaldehyde, formate and methanol. Methanol is also a byproduct from the fruit juices but it is in a chemically bound form which can not be absorbed by the body.

Methanol from aspartame is in the free form which can be easily absorbed by the body which can be a toxin. High levels of aspartame in the body can cause a person to become addict to the particular product. Some individuals have an inborn inability to metabolize phenylalanine an amino acid found in aspartame. When high levels of this amino acid is found in the body can cause brain damage and be life threatening. Also people suffering from depression and bipolar disorders should avoid colas with aspartame for their own benefit.
