Anti Inflammatory Supplements

Anti-inflammatory supplements are used to help get relief from pain and inflammation without the use of drugs that generally have some serious side effects. Inflammation that is chronic in nature can cause health issues such as autoimmune disorders, heart disease, osteoporosis, cancer, and other disorders related to the immune system such as psoriasis. Anti-inflammatory drugs prove extremely beneficial in treating these illnesses. However, using anti-inflammatory drugs on a long-term basis to provide relief from pain can cause side effects such as ulcers, stomach pain, and kidney or liver damage. Natural anti-inflammatory supplements and natural anti inflammatory foods are a better option as they are effective in treating pain and inflammation.

There are a number of natural anti-inflammatory supplements that are extremely beneficial.
Turmeric features among the natural anti-inflammatory supplements that are quite effective. This is because it is a great source of curcumin, which is a natural pigment that helps block inflammation. There are studies  which indicate that taking turmeric supplements reduces the need for an individual to take anti-inflammatory medications. The side-effects on taking these supplements are not very serious.

Studies have shown that the gum resin obtained from the boswellia tree makes for an excellent anti-inflammatory supplement. It was seen that patients who were suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis showed an improvement in their symptoms on taking these anti-inflammatory supplements. Studies also indicate that taking this anti-inflammatory medication does not have any major side effects or drug-nutrient interactions that are of major concern. White willow bark extract also has anti-inflammatory properties that are effective for treating problems such as back pain, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. Taking these anti-inflammatory supplements, which contain phenolic glycosides, helps block the creation of PG-2 and this, in turn, exerts a slight analgesic effect.

Some other anti-inflammatory supplements are prepared from natural anti-inflammatory herbs such as ginger root extract, bromelain, and devil’s claw. As mentioned earlier, research has shown that these natural anti-inflammatory supplements, as compared to their synthetic counterparts, do not cause injury to the intestines, do not accelerate cartilage destruction, and do not produce any kidney and liver toxicity. They are therefore considered to be a better alternative to regular anti-inflammatory drugs. Natural anti inflammatory supplements therefore are often considered to be the best anti inflammatory supplements.
