Muscle Mass Supplements

I am trying to increase my muscle mass. Can you suggest any good natural homemade drinks?

The human body is made up of many different organs and parts which have individual functions. The internal structure of the body that gives it its shape is the skeletal system. Over the skeleton are the muscles of the body. Different parts of the body have different types of muscle that are suited to the functions carried out by these parts of the body. When it comes to body building and improving muscle mass, the muscles in question are on the arms, legs, stomach, and back.

The desire to increase muscle mass has a physical as well as cosmetic benefit. A muscular body is likely to be more attractive to most people while the increased muscle mass usually results in increased strength and lifting ability. The key nutrient to building muscle mass is protein.

The process of building muscle mass is a long one. For a person who is overweight, the first bit of the process is to get rid of excess fat. This is achieved through continuous exercise and a healthy diet. When an exercise program has started, make sure that the duration is increased slightly every day. When getting rid of excess fat, the exercise should be slow and continuous so the body burns the energy stored as fat. Once this is done, one can concentrate on muscle building. Muscle building requires two things. Firstly the person must exercise effectively and secondly the person must consume enough protein. The protein consumption should not be excessive, but it should be more than the daily requirement because during muscle building, the requirement of protein exceeds the normal daily requirement.

The best way to provide the extra protein is a protein shake. A shake is easily and quickly consumed and can be served cold to make it more desirable. Protein supplements such as whey are available in supermarkets. However, in addition to the whey that one can add to such drinks, one can go the natural way and try smoothies that contain natural fruits and vegetables. These smoothies are likely to be healthier and will also provide the extra bonus of added vitamin and mineral consumption. Fruits that are recommended for protein shakes are banana, strawberry, pineapple, and mango. Banana is a particularly popular fruit among athletes as it tends to give an instant burst of energy. Eggs are also rich in proteins and so you could add egg whites to your protein shake if you wish to.
