Flatulence or gas a type of problem which each and every person tends to face at one point or the other in their lives. Excess gas present in the gastrointestinal tract can pass out of the body either by burping or through the rectum as a fart. Gas is nothing but an odorless vapor with similar constitution of air like in environment that is it contains hydrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, sometimes methane and small amount of sulfur containing gas. This gas finds its way in the digestive tract from two ways – swallowed air through rapid eating, smokings, rapid drinking, lose dentures or chewing gums and undigested food breakdown by the bacteria present in the large intestine.

Improper diet (like odd eating timings, late night fat laden meal, and certain foods) and heredity are two factors which add fuel to this problem. It is important to know the cause for excess belching and farting to treat the problem effectively. Although gas, flatulence and belching are common symptoms for many disorders it can be effectively handled by following the listed tips below –

After your meals to aid digestion chew few slices of this ginger. Ginger can also be liberally used in preparing meals as it helps in digestion. Another effective way to incorporate ginger is mixing salt, asafetida and ginger powder in a cup of lukewarm water and drinking this water daily to relieve gas problem.
