Savory is a herb that is used to flavor food and used for making medicines. It is also used in pickles and to spice up some food preparation.

Savory: This herb is a 15-20cm tall shrub with several branches. The leaves are smooth or spear-shaped, while the shrub flowers during May and June. According to folk medicine, savory is supposed to be good for the digestive system. It is considered to be an appetite stimulant, anti-flatulent and as a carminative.
It is also good for people suffering from diarrhea. Tea brewed with savory is believed to be healing for colds and cough, while it can also act as an expectorant. Savory has originated from the southern part of Europe, and winter savory grows well in well-drained and sunny places. It is generally grown as a garden herb.
