The liver is one of the most complicated organs in the human body. The liver is located to the right of the abdominal cavity. One of the major functions of the liver is the metabolism of nutrients that get absorbed into the blood stream from the intestines. Some of these nutrients may also be stored in the liver. The process of protein production for various different functions also takes place in the liver. Thus, there is a strong correlation between liver disorder and weight loss. The simple logic associated with liver disorder and weight loss is the fact that the body is unable to process certain nutrients when the liver is damaged.
Fatty liver disorder is associated with excess fat being stored in the liver. This is a reversible condition that can be tackled through an improved diet and exercise regime. It is not recommended for an individual to go on some sort of fasting diet which would deprive the body of nutrients. Instead, healthy nutrition will help to keep the body well nourished and will also help the liver function properly and produce the various substances that it is designed to produce.
